About Us

Dr. Ira Mims has owned Smiles and Beyond Dental since 2014, where he has serviced patients in the Lewisville, Flower Mound, Carrollton, Corinth, and Denton areas. He is a graduate of Texas A and M Health Science Center School of Dentistry located in downtown Dallas. Dr. Mims interest in dentistry began as a child when he was treated at the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Dentistry. After graduating high school, Dr. Mims joined the United States Army as a dental tech where he had the opportunity to travel and live in Germany, California and Texas. After leaving the Army, Dr. Mims left California for Texas and began his journey on becoming a dentist. Since graduating dental school, Dr. Mims has worked in multiple aspects of dentistry including working for the Texas Department of Corrections for over 4 years.

In his spare time, Dr. Mims enjoys family, playing golf, traveling and continuing dental education. He also continues to compete with his teenage son in the sport of basketball. Dr. Mims is currently a member of the Texas Dental Association and American Dental Association in which he is able to attend continuing education and mentor new and future dentists.
